This summer. the new Marketing Practises Act took effect. New rules were introduced in regard to covert advertising and marketing activities directed towards children and young people.

This means that covert advertising is not only strictly forbidden now; violations may even be penalised by fines. And business and trade are now legally required to take into consideration the vulnerability of young people and children when targeting these age groups in marketing campaigns.

The present guidelines on the respective areas therefore had to undergo a revision to incorporate the changes. The revision is now complete.

Please see the revised guidelines on covert advertising and children, young people and marketing.
